You might want to study some just war theory. In a way, though, it can be true. If a man fights for what he believes is a good cause, one that genuinely requires him to fight, he can easily come into direct conflict with another man who believes the same thing. All that's necessary is for one of th...

How can you say the mathetmatics seem sound when the article is only 9 pages long and 90+% of it is text? I'm not making a comment on this particular text, but mathematics is the study of patterns, NOT the study of numbers and certainly not the study of hieroglyphics and reams of greek letters. The...

according to this article, the russian proposal is for a nuclear electric rocket... that is, the nuclear reactor only serves to create electricity that runs some other propulsion system (VASIMR, IONS, etc)

"Perminov said the ship will have a megawatt-class nuclear reactor..." NASA -- "At full power, the SSMEs generate, in watts, the equivalent of 23 Hoover Dams." Dept. of Interior -- "[Hoover Dam] has a nameplate capacity of about 2,080 megawatts." 23*2080 MW = 47840 MW Not for SSTO. Im quite ignoran...

"STEALING MOMENTUM FROM OTHER GALAXIES IS WRONG" "EXTRATERRESTRIALS HAVE RIGHTS TOO" seems like the premise of Arthur´s C Clarke & Stephen Baxter´s books A TIME ODYSSEY... where a very ancient (billion year old) and powerful alien civilization destroys new civilizations because they are so worried ...

Well, but in case of Tajmar´s experiment, the spinning disk is the ENGINE right? The ship doesnt necessarily needs to be in that shape. In fact, since its reactionless, it can be completely enclosed inside lets say, a Imperial Star Destroyer shape :) In fact, from what I understand, to lift a HUGE s...

I wonder if a "relativistic missile defense system" would be possible. I mean, how to detect something travelling near light speed (unless we detect the fabled tachyon emissions (if any) from such objects??? its like trying to defend against a bullet shot from a distance against your eye. The moment...

Paul, do you agree that if your spacecraft propulsion method turns out to be true, it will be so simple to accelerate anything close to lightspeed that relativistic weapons will be the most common weapons in the universe (in this case, I hope no et civilization comes in contact with us until we are ...

Now that we understand you're not an American, we will thank you to keep your unsolicited opinions about our politics to yourself. Have a Coke and a Smile and STFU. :) David And I...
