Giorgio, You are quite correct: you said "Not so diffucult as you can think." Which I took to mean you thought I could not understand the difficulty. My first computer was an Exidy Sorcerer in 1978. The computer tape drive was long before that. Someone on the cutting edge of developing new things do...

Giorgio, Quote: "You see, you are making their same mistake. You just gave me partial info on an experiment you made without actually saying anything consistent. How can I decide if your failure in getting to the target was because of impossibility of reaching it or due to your inability to reach it...

Cgray45, You didn’t answer my question. What was “incredibly sloppy”? Quote: “you must take very pain that there is absolutely nothing anyone can find wrong about your methodology” Even that would not be enough. The skeptics would claim they were lying, or the instrument calibration was off, or it w...

Giorgio wrote. "I used to do it daily while working in chemical industry. Not so diffucult as you can think." I very much doubt you did that to an accuracy of <0.1 gm. I find it most unlikely that the device with water flowing through it could be weighed to that accuracy. quote "Not so diffucult as ...

I’m faintly amused by the critics who clearly have so little understanding of what Dr. Levi was trying to do or the difficulties of doing what they suggest. cgray45 writes: “It is so incredibly sloppy that even presuming full honesty on their part.’ Just what was “incredibly sloppy”? Others go on ab...

Giorgio, I was surprised you didn’t find Dr. Levi’s preliminary report of more interest. http://22passi.blogspot.com/2011/01/report-ufficiale-esperimento-della.html It included details of the run in December and casually mentioned that the reaction continued with no input at all, either electrical o...

I haven't checked to see if this link has been posted already, but it seems to answer a number of questions. http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/files/Rossi-Focardi_paper.pdf Various other groups have seen the device demonstrated. Rossi continues to work on the patent. He gives his theory for ...

happyjack27, Quote "just that those happen to be the de facto requirements to get a paper or alternatively patent request accepted." To get a patent in this area, Rossi was refused because he didn't have an acceptable, peer reviewed theory. Now the only way to get a paper published seems to be if he...

Strange logic. You suggest he should specify exactly what catalysts he is using (without patent protection) together with all the working parameters and then he could get published and get a patent. I don’t think so. It looks like the reaction is nuclear, as it produces copper, but there is no known...

Catch 22. I read that Rossi's paper was refused publication in a peer reviewed journal because he didn't have an acceptable theory. LIkewise, he is having trouble getting a patent because the examiner doesn't think cold fusion is possible. Just suppose someone comes up with a device that does work. ...

Re working with deuterium, it was reported that Rossi has stated neither deuterium or tritium will work. Krivit writes that the process was discovered by Francesco Piantelli, a retired professor of biophysics with the University of Siena. On one occasion the reactor ran away, getting much too hot, a...

The piece I linked earlier stated that the H2 was split into atomic H before reaching the nickel. I don't know how you do that short of an electric arc, but I assume there are catalytic ways at lower temperature. I wondered if this was the reason for Rossi's preference to keep resistive heating on a...

Axil,

Why don't you read what has been written before speculating?

Rossi says that the efficiency of the device rises markedly with temperature but he has selected this lower temperature to begin with, for reasons of safety.

cgray45, Rossi is quoted as saying: “In this field the phase of the competition in the field of theories, hypothesis, conjectures etc etc is over. The competition is in the market. If somebody has a valid technology, he has not to convince people by chattering, he has to make a reactor that work and...
