Re: An upcoming book on IEC
This will be allot like FF Chens book which came out last year. The two men are of the same generation and spent a great deal of their lives studying nuclear fusion energy. The book "An Indispensable Truth: How Fusion Power Can Save the Planet" by Francis F. Chen was published already in May 2011. ...

I found two talks from General Fusion, one from 2012 and one from 2011 from the webpage of Fusion Power Associates http://fire.pppl.gov/fpa_annual_meet.html Update on Progress at General Fusion – Doug Richardson, GF http://fire.pppl.gov/FPA12_Richardson_GF.pdf Research Program at General Fusion – Mi...

Re: General Fusion in the news
crowberry, re: "There is information sharing within the physics community and within the general public. Tri Alpha Energy does seem to report currently to the physics community quite openly on their activities." Thanks for those links. Any idea if there is status insight in the scientific papers to...

Re: Sorlox - FRC nautilus compressor
I read through the patent application. I think that the nautilus compressor looks like a rather promising device. First they make a hot and dense enough compact toroid (CT) plasma that is injected into the nautilus compressor with a high speed (about c/10 in the video). As the CT moves down the spir...

Re: General Fusion in the news
We seem to see large variability in public information on fusion project status. Tri-Alpha seems to run a news black out philosophy, General Fusion gives us really good insight into their progress, "General Fusion on Track for Demonstration of Net Gain Equivalent Plasma Compression this year" May 2...

Re: Sorlox - FRC nautilus compressor
That video is interesting, but does not add a whole lot of new information. They make it sound like they have already achieved everything they are selling. If so that would be a scientific sensation. But... noone is talking about it. So why isnt there a paper in nature yet? The history of fusion re...

Re: Recovery.Gov Project Tracker
Does anyone else find themselves becoming disillusioned over the whole alternative energy field? Polywell, General Fusion, Tri Alpha, LPP, LENR, solar, hydrogen, NIF, thorium... blah blah blah. We just keep hearing about them and then they seem fade away again. Never anything concrete demonstrated....

Re: Sorlox - FRC nautilus compressor
Sorlox has a 6 min 17 s video on their homepage showing a simulation of their device, but without a description of how it works. http://www.sorlox.com/company.html The spiral design is to get a compact size of the device. The same video has been uploaded on Youtube on the 20th of August: http://www....
