GI,
I will get the book. Is it an OK read for the layperson, or should I expect tons of jargon? What is the title (sorry, I missed the title).

Re: Mach Effect progress
And I just remembered, just because something (a device or idea) works as advertised, repeatedly, doesn't mean, necessarily, that it is right. I recall that the old models of the solar system worked very well based on the knowledge of the time. People could even predict eclipses and such. All with h...

Re: Mach Effect progress
rj, There are all manner of tests one might do as regards M-E theory. Every test one might do can go wrong in uncounted ways, so you can't validate or falsify any theory with a single test. HOWEVER: if you're working on a technology that conceptually cannot operate unless a specific theory is corre...

Re: Mach Effect progress
Ya'll are as far above me as I am above...wait for it...the amoeba. But I thought I would ask a question anyway since this is kind of interesting and would be cool if it worked. I have tried to read up on some of this, but it is still beyond me. So, even though this has probably been covered, and is...

Yeah, that's a good point. How was it ingested? Breathing smoke doesn't seem safe to me.

Hey! Peer reviewed even. Is there a single website that collates all the peer reviewed articles on this tiopic? Both good and bad.

Re: They Regulate Everything In The Body
I don't have time to study everything, so I find myself relying on what I see as reasonable. And scientific consensus. And then making voting level decisions. I have poked around a bit on the marijuana issue and found some pretty scary stuff and some good stuff. I am leaning towards not being too wo...

Yeah, that Gupta thing. How about that? Surprisingly forceful. Anyone can say almost anything, but who should you believe? He could have been surgeon general too. Well, I think he was under consideration. I wonder, full legalization by...what...2020? Sort of like beer? I think I will still avoid the...

Re: Progressives Are whining About infrastructure again
Have some laws been changed or added over the years? I reviewed the following link, and it seems to indicate that the fed's have been ok'd to help with money. http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/safetealu/factsheets/im.htm Kind of hard to follow though. And then I found this: http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/infrastruct...

Re: The Robin Hood Tax
What are Republicans saying the tax rate should be right now? Realizing this answer could change over time due to the state of the economy. Is there some sort of standard model people use to come up with the rate? I know many folks don't want an income tax, but since we have one, what is the consens...

That is not good. What were the reasons given? I have heard of engineers being let go because "math works the same in India - but India costs less." Not sure if I totally believe that though. I did see this opening, but it may be out of date: https://www.ivyexec.com/professionals/search/job/1247606/...

Diogenes: yeah, the slander/libel thing was meant to go after the murder statement. Sloppy on my part. Sorry. Yeeess! The house thing. That is what I forgot. I looked it up. Seems it kind of walked the legal line. I don't recall seeing anything during the election. That would have been fair game in ...

Re: Nobody respects Obama.
Thanks for the links re: Obama being gay. I totally missed this one. Of note to me is that at least one of the links point to a David Frum article ridiculing the belief that Obama is gay. I can see why Fox would not report. And the mention of "convenient" deaths. Hmmmm... For me, I don't find this c...
