Streaming Instability? Sup Brah!

Just learned this in class yesterday, dont ask me to derive the math, I cant say I understand it 100% Consider a function g0(v), v=velocity in a direction g0(v)=f hat e0 + sum( (me/ms) f hat s0 f hat s0 is the zeroth order normalized distribution function of species s. So this is talking about at a ...

Re: So In other other news

man ladajo... man....

fact of the matter is, regardless of what happens, I'm going to do polywell research in the future, with or without the aid of emc2.

So In other other news

I got an internship with AFRL, (doing stuff i dont know how to do), gonna try to build some relations there. This is much later tho, I wanna be able to get funded doing polywell related stuff, but through the Air Force, if the Navy is doing it, why not the Air Force. So I dont think i need to worry ...

Re: Forbes - Fusion Crash Program Required

I cant tell you how or why, but yall's conjectures arent right. With regards to my comments about simulations, to do simulations right to see the important physics, you need a code that requires a license fee that basically runs about as much as building a polywell. Well of course there are other c...

Re: Forbes - Fusion Crash Program Required

I would ask folks that knows whats actually going on to comment, but they cant. Like I said, I dont like how the people that knows stuff cant say anything and the people that knows nothing says everything. You may even ask why arent they experimenting with geometry (which is fine with me, I'm going ...

Re: EMC2 lends plasma source to nat'l lab

"Russian Plasma Gun" = "electron bazooka"? Wiffleball electron containment is far better than expected and injecting more electrons requires heavier artillery to overcome repulsion. Hypothetical plasma physics scenario. Author is not a degreed plasma physicist. No actual simulations were used in th...

Re: Question: How is the electron not getting into the machi

What's the current vector cross radial position vector? If it's something really obvious, sorry. In other news, if we're talking about diamagnetic property of electrons, we can not be talking about the core off field electrons. They're not on B field, thus they dont have gyromotion to oppose the mac...

Re: Question: How is the electron not getting into the machi

what's lxr? sorry like i said, im dumb. Second, I later did realize that given the gyromotion of the electrons alone, there has to be opposing field. Hell, even if the electrons are just circulating the field line in place, it would still have that effect. So the diamagnetic property of the plasma i...

Re: Question: How is the electron not getting into the machi

Okay, you're saying the mirror effect, which causes the electrons to reflect, the reflected electrons' motion generates an opposing B field to push the field out? The problem with this argument is first that, you have to count all electrons' motions, if there are equal amount of electrons going in b...

Re: Question: How is the electron not getting into the machi

That cant be true. At a given set of parameters (geometry, config, B field strength, electron beam current, etc) there is a well depth that's achieved at input/loss equilibrium, usually is far below beta=1. You cant get to high beta without WB effect, not without putting in some outrageous amount of...
