Conserve momentum comrades? I don't think so. The time has come to liberate it from those who have captured it in the name of greed and personal profit.
That was a good one!

Beyond a certain distance the energy to maintain them doesn't come from the aircraft, or it would never fly. The angular momentum in the vortex is conserved by energy supplied by the surrounding air, which drops in temperature and reaches its dew point. As so many times, I cant follow you, sorry. I...

I'm no specialist, but I doubt that consumer grade flight sim AI is comparable to military grade. Consumer PCs have to handle everything else (graphics, physics) in the same resource budget as AI, so that's one big limitation already. The military also doesn't have the cramped funding of video game...

Thats what Phil Plait also guessed.
His guess sure is better than mine (some weird variation of an aurora, or something), so I would say it sounds plausible.

Despite some initial claims of negligible or even zero momentum transfer, recent theoretical studies concur that material objects may acquire momentum from quantum vacuum. This can be explained qualitatively by considering quantum vacuum as a random fluctuating electromagnetic field (so called zero...

We have had some discussion on ZPE before. Strangely enough the guys behind that are doing something similar to BLP, but with a different explanation for why it works. I generally finde the thought behind ZPE plausible (to some extent), I am not to sure about the method these ZPE guys are proposing ...

True fused silica is fragile. There are many downsides to this sort of project. This is why I have turned my eyes towards fusion. The point of my initial post however was that with all the nuclear explosions in the atmosphere, an accident involving a nuclear powered rocket, or any other nuclear reac...

Actually I read this elsewhere. I could not produce the original source, so I quickly did a Google search and this came up. I even mentioned myself that the article was pretty badly recherched. This newspaper was not the only one though. It does not really matter anyway. The guys is an ass one way o...

If we ate less meat, more arable land could be used to feed us instead of animals.
Meat has a higher nutritional value than plants. So it kinda evens itself out.
Also there are some aminoacids that you will have a hard time getting just from plants.
A well balanced diet is the key.

I probably died fifty times before I learned to beat them. How many times can a real life pilot die before he has a chance to learn about how to beat them? Again, I think that the dogfighting days are over. Nowadays you fire your fire and forget rockets at a blimp on the radar screen. You destroy t...

I thought the point of the polywell was the the leaks would not equal total losses. To the stay with the bucket analogy, you would have a small hose attached to one "hole" and it would lead the losses back into the bucket through another "hole". That is at least what I understand.

I guess the MI6 thought it was plausible:

But then of course, something like this cant possibly be true, alright.
I have to admit though that some of this article is bullshit.
Moslems do get circumcised just like jews do (at least many of them do).

Alex, dont put to much weight on that AI- article. This is a very different AI, they are talking about (more like AL). There has been AI in flightsimulators and other games for decades now and it is getting much better all the time. That does not mean much, yes, but there has been a lot of improveme...
