I think that is what I meant by "sub-threading".

These off topic posts are exactly why I would like to have this forum ported to a sub-threaded system. If one subthread goes off topic, the real thread can still be followed.
I would support (monetarily) such a porting. Would you?

I see at least 2 experimental devices before a net power attempt: - a 'continuous' WB-7 scale device. - a larger version of the above to validate scaling. I think at least one more should be resolved before net power, that of sphericity. To dodec or not. Seriously? I may be misunderstanding somethi...

I have heard about the KITE launch- idea before. Somehow noone built it yet though. That is because the originator is a government drudge and hasn't found anyone interested in pursuing it. There had been limited discussions with Tethers Unlimited (the HASTOL) folk, but other activities got in the w...

A combination of KITE launcher and HASTOL might actually grow into a truly cheap method of access. Inexpensive to begin with, easy to grow.

The "News" thread "the verdict is positive" is a prime example of why this forum should be migrated to a threaded package. A very interesting and "News" worthy discussion was hijacked, despite several calm requests to take it elsewhere, by a political discussion about the benefits of government cont...

I was thinking of collisions more like quater to half-way out, rather than just the slow stuff right at the edge. And once ions are scattered half way and heading circumferentially, they would be more likely to then collide with radially moving ions, which would then be displaced circumferentially,...

Sure, but first you have to invent a time machine.

This sounds like good news. However, I thought the next step was to just go for it and build the net power machine. The report seems to say that Nebel has backed off of that. ... As I recall, the plan was always to do a WB-8 dodec machine first. I think that is a grand idea. I would simply modify t...

The ion currents are mostly radial, Is that a statement of fact, experimental measure, guess-work, or other? I look at it as "other". WB6 seemed to work as expected, which suggests (but does not prove) that the theoretical construct, including ion currents being mostly radial, are probably near tru...

This is one of the reasons I don't think an octa-coil will work. It's not spherically symmetric. But it will be interesting to test that! You've said this before, but I don't see why. If instead of putting the coils on the square part of the rectified cube, you put them on the triangular parts, the...

As I understand it, this is one reason for WB8, the dodec polywell. It is supposed to help check out the effect of having a less quasi, more spherical magnetic field.

Heh, if a "Mass Extinction Event" sized asteroid were heading generally in the direction of Earth, and half the scientists said it might hit the planet, and half said it might miss, would you try to deflect it? This is a bad analogy. The analogy should be more like: "Pal Bore" past vice dictator sa...

[Edited to note that I cross-posted with the last two posters] Do you have a cite on that, Kiteman? In India, at least, the increase in the percentage of males is due to selective abortion of females. Since a male is seen as a boon to the family, and females a bane. I believe it's the same in China...
