Re: SpaceX News

I am pretty curious to see how well their new engine will perform. So is the USAF, which put up a third of the budget for flight testing Raptors as the upper stage of a Heavy. It's a bit of overkill, but enables testing faster and cheaper and at the end Spacex should be able to say "The MCT engines...

Re: Comets can’t explain weird ‘alien megastructure’ star after all

Does anyone know where the system's planetary orbit plane would be? If it aligns with our sun, wouldn't a megastructure be plausible? Apparently the "implausibility" is the speed at which the structure grew... if it is indeed an artifact. You'd think that humanity has rammed full tilt headfirst int...

Re: Sell The Whitehouse to Trump

... The CNN feed carried a very different audio impression. The hecklers were present, but dwarfed by the rest of the crowd. Also a product of microphone placement, and good floor management. Some of those bursts of "Hill-ah-ree" that seemed to spontaneously break out from the floor were induced by...

Re: Sell The Whitehouse to Trump

Observation: While the boos (from a small portion of the Bernie supporters) were real they were deliberately exaggerated by mic placement. MSNBC appears to have been the worst offender in this regard. And a lot of media went with their version. The CNN feed carried a very different audio impression....

For now... bad. Spacex is currently a launch services provider and launch/landing is the worst place to have something go wrong.

I remember a similar scenario but there was no vaporization.... The violator wasn't vaporized, he was harvested for organ transplants. Actually, there was a vaporization related to a traffic ticket... Storywise, the major source of transplant organs, and thus life extension in that society at that ...

Link from the above: Avalanche proton-boron fusion based on elastic nuclear collisions Yep, that came out last month, i think... not quite a fissile-style chain reaction but definitely indicates more burn for the buck. Seems that the posited "two strong - one weak" alpha output might have more divi...

It'd be nice if posts from people on one's ignore list were to be automatically marked as read so as to not clog up one's "new" or "unread" posts filters when an idiot floods the forum.
