Re: I think Lockheed Screwed Up. We Need Data - Not Specula

If someone at Lockheed mentioned the word "breakthrough", then I agree that Lockheed (probably) really screwed up. and even if the blame for that can be laid at the feet of the Reuters correspondent, the fact that she (?) felt the need to use that word is probably largely because Lockheed didn't do ...

Re: ARPA-E to begin funding alternative fusion concepts

There's a FAQ here, if you haven't seen it: http://arpa-e.energy.gov/sites/default/files/ALPHA%20DE-FOA-0001184_0.pdf Some relevant responses: Q15. My idea does not exactly fit this FOA, but I still believe it is relevant. Should I submit a concept paper to this FOA or should i wait for a forthcomin...

Re: LENR Is Real

Rossi has been trying to get rid of the radiation for years and he has done it. I thought he did it with the demonstration back in January, 2011. Bianchini, at least, didn't detect any radiation. And what about the "hot cat" that was tested over a year ago? Did that still have radiation problems? I...

Re: Hew e-cat report

Even worse: http://www.mail-archive.com/vortex-l@eskimo.com/msg98421.html Let me put it this way, if what you say is true - that the sample tested to 99.3% purity of Ni-62, then we have a major problem. Are you certain? That is because several months ago, I personally talked to the person who sold R...

Fusioneer claims Q of 1.084

Doug Coulter claims to have achieved scientific breakeven with his cylindrical Farnsworth fusor, but in this comment he explains why he isn't ready to publish his results in a scientific journal. Most good papers meant for publication are all about quantification of things, measurements and math (sh...

Re: ARPA-E to begin funding alternative fusion concepts

I see your point. A million or two would go a long way for LPP, not so much for EMC2 or Helion. Still, General Fusion applied, and I believe their funding needs are in the same ballpark as EMC2's and Helion's.

ITER: the first puzzle pieces arrive

http://www.iter.org/newsline/-/1996 The four wooden crates solidly attached to its flatbed contained the very first plant components delivered to the ITER worksite: 12 high voltage surge arrestors supplied by the US Domestic Agency as part of the US contribution to the installation's steady state el...

Re: LENR Is Real

The other mode of education of problem solving is provided by real world experience in meeting project oriented requirements. In business, a customer puts out a request for quote (RFQ) that requires a potential vender to meet a specification describing the project. The customer does not require the...

Re: LENR Is Real

How is the US Navy's patent regarding the stabilization of nuclear waste justified. Simple: the patent examiner decided to grant the patent. Patent examiners have also granted numerous patents that were obvious to those skilled in the art, that were covered by prior art, or more to the point, that ...

Re: 2014 Dark Horse Trifecta Year?

* LPP is beating their chest claiming major, best of the dark horses progress, but when they ask for cash... they can't even make it to $10^6 magnitude. There is a reality disconnect that is confusing me and casting serious doubt on their concept. What am I missing on the LPP narrative that the cas...
