I prefer Steins;Gate's story when it comes to CERN (SERN) ;)

Re: Ignition Failed

In the mean time for a fraction of what has been spent on NIF we could get a full up Polywell and have a go/no go understanding in 5 years or so. Any why would they want that? They make a good living off of other peoples money. Sorry, I just paid taxes today (and estimated quarterly taxes too). I'v...

Re: fansworth working on his fusor again....

The important part of your post is the word 'caught'. Other scientists proved them wrong. Anyone can lie, for whatever reasons like funding or dogma, but eventually they get outed. Caught, yes, outed, not yet. Mann is still in a position of authority at Va Tech IIRC, and the climate 'scientists' th...

Re: fansworth working on his fusor again....

Religion deceives, science enlightens; that's quite a difference. Dogma in science can be overturned overnight by a good experiment and reasoning, good luck overturning religious dogma in the same manner. That's not to say a scientist can't be 'spiritual, but a 'religious scientist (as stubby puts ...

Re: fansworth working on his fusor again....

There's plenty of history of dogma in science. It's often a battle to get new ideas accepted. There is no reason to keep this back and forth going. Science leaves room for belief, and belief leaves room for science. I say both are needed.

You're saying all the people sitting at the table behind the presentation, there to lend support of the project are all scammers or they're just too stupid to understand what you and I easily pick out from a video? There are lots of stupid people in the world. With graduate honors and post doctoral...

It looks like it's easier to explain this as fraud than actual science. There could be vacuum in the chamber, helping the piston come back down...that doesn't mean much though. The coil is used to shoot the piston up, vacuum pulls the piston back down. The spark, gasses, and other elements inside th...

Haha David, I'll see if I can talk any of them into it...Does anyone make a Talk-Polywell.com T-Shirt? :D

Besides, the people there aren't as bad as some may think. Generally good folk, just like looking at the ladies.

But isn't it easier to use AC over long distances? How much does this cost compared to using all AC stuff? I guess what I'm saying is, what's the point? Is it economical to do this? Ease of long distance travel over smaller lines is why AC won over DC, right? I understand converting DC to AC for lon...

easyBob, For some reason the value of all the gold on earth doesn't match the value of all the currency on earth. So unless you want a really bad collapse there is no turning back. See, you can't just say it; there is no evidence that anything will collapse. What there is evidence of, is how pumpin...

"greed" is responsible a lot like gravity is responsible for the death of someone who took a long walk off a short balcony.... Greed and Fear are the operative forces in the market, so yeah, I admit to a certain glibness there. So, how do you calculate "Greed" then? m/s^2? See what I'm saying? It's...

Easybob, One little problem. Gold supples grow at the rate of 1% a year and economic growth has been at the rate of 3% a year. If we relied on gold with that kind of growth we would be in constant deflation. That will not work. In a deflationary cycle you can't get credit. If people save, then peop...

I still blame the Fed. Res. Interest rates, just like prices, would, in a real free market, adjust to the millions of market actors saving and borrowing....As interest rates go down, there can be increased borrowing (the very act of dropping interest rates is a signal to borrow), and that is all goo...
