The little I understand the physics in it I think to have understood the following: The only possibility that the E-Cat does not work would be Mr. Rossi being a smooth criminal who puts some dirty tricks in the black box to fool his investors, take the money and live on close to me in the Carribean....

Why? Of course, polywell is far, far better but didn't we live yesterday still in this world with the oil-peak-world-war looming? If I never knew Bussard's work I would be such happy alone with these small boxes...

Is it safe now to say that the burden of saving the world is no more on polywell's shoulders...only the burden to do it in an elegant way, with major plants not relying on thousands of small boxes being stapled and bundled?

Prego?

There is some other really interesting stuff in this list even if it poses more questions than it answers - at least to me: - "Transformative Reconfiguration"? Planetary rovers which change to being flying/climbing vehicles when needed? How? - "Regolith Derived Heat Shield" Isn't the heat shield nee...

Well John Slough has a concept for both, propulsion and electricity. The electricity concept uses "traditional" T-D fusion. I am not sure what the propulsion system uses. I think Slough uses it with a variety of fuels. How can the electricity concept use T-D? The propulsion concept may use a variet...

But Mr. Slough is talking about "direct conversion" which is impossible with a high neutron output destroying the necessary grids around it. His concept takes aneutronic fusion as granted - if not it would be useless! "Direct conversion" has a specific meaning to certain people (i.e. fans of Polywe...

Re: NASA selects 3 aneutronic fusion related projects

To me that's another very good sign. Why should anyone think of using boron as a radiation shield in space if it's not needed anyway as fuel? I was under the impression that the two uses needed different isotopes. The shield is made with 10B and the fuel is 11B, and never the twain shall meet. No? ...

I'm not sure I understand your question. Boron is useful for neutron shielding independent of its use as a fusion fuel. The only concept I'm completely convinced has to do with aneutronic fusion is the only one that directly mentions it in the proposal title. I'm curious if Mr. Tarditi has a partic...

NASA selects 3 aneutronic fusion related projects

NASA today published a list of 30 projects for "NIAC early stage innovation". 3 of them (around 10% maybe) are related to aneutronic fusion, namely the concepts of Mr. Slough, Tarditi and Thibeault. To me that's another very good sign. Why should anyone think of using boron as a radiation shield in ...

Dang, you beat me to that answer, lad'y boy! But let me add that something designed to be large enough for pB&J would be plenty big for DD. Indeed, if I were looking to fund one NOW, I'd size/price it a bit big for the pB&J just to have a bit of lee way. Does that mean that you can use a polywell d...

A new generation Polywell device is being built and the major deliverable is a report describing the performance of this device. to The purpose of the AGEE program ...

turbines are a massive capital investment, and if that investment has been made, the minor investment in switching your boiler over is minor, and lets you get value back for the investment in the other infrastructure, even if it's not as efficient as the PB11 plant. So, 10-50 million to convert a p...
I have no reason to think otherwise today. In contrary. If anything I have more reason to think that now. There has not been any new information in years and even Msimon went qiet and retreated.
Maybe anyone has an opinion about, independently of if Mr. Godwin wanted to indicate that, or if Navy/EMC2/government are planning it this way, the better strategy in economic and political dimension would be to start comercialization on DD basis or better to skip it? That was the point I wanted to ...
