Nasty headaches, irritability, and yes, unusual levels of tiredness. And that's from personal experience (the only way I could stop the headache was to drink coffee).

Don't forget that at base nature, man is a beast. Still I see someone thinks very lowly of humans and thus himself. That could explain it! Actually, I think I got the cause and effect backwards, but it comes down to the same end result. Anyway, it seems to me that Diogenes does not trust him...

Chinese writing does not permitt the creation of new words. Not true. Chinese writing is very amenable to creating new words. Often, just select the appropriate characters and you've got a new word. If that doesn't quite do the job, it's quite easy to create a new character (or would be if it wasn'...

Definitely railways, at least here in Japan. In ten minutes during rush hour, I'll see six or more 10-car passenger trains pass, each car crammed with people. So that's maybe 100000 people passing per hour. You won't see a four lane road (similar width) carry anywhere near that number (all those 1 o...

That makes me wonder how long until we see regenerative dentistry. I've heard mention of some progress there, but this might be helpful.

I'm using the Polywell in a story I'm writing, though I haven't specifically mentioned it yet., though I have mentioned one of its effects ($2/kg to L4! (that includes pilot's pay, airport fees, etc)). However, one problem I have: how much bigger than the magrid does the shielding have to be? (ie, h...

If all that about the "Club of Rome" is true, my comment a couple couple of months ago about AGW etc being about preventing a post-scarcity economy wasn't so ridiculous after all.

Diplomatic? That is so yesteryear. We must strike now! Strike before our enemies even think of becoming our enemies! bluster bluster

On a more serious note, I think that "fusion terrorists" will become a problem only if access to fusion (by countries, anyway) is denied.

And the "good former of clouds" would be very plausible: 2H2+O2->2H2O => clouds. As for other chemistry: I can't comment on probabilities of various reactions, but I wouldn't worry about a major hydrogen leek depleting atmospheric oxygen because it would be taking out oxygen that we put there in the...
