Re: Small Tri Alpha news blurp

C-2U was successful. C-2W is being built. Articles published with experimental results. What is the point of linking to gossiping no name trolls? Any news older than C-2U results is useless. If I was a physicist whose career was dependent on ITER, Tri Alpha success would be worrisome. Or, a Mid East...

Re: General Fusion in the news

For GF, everything is full size at this time except for the compressor which is 1/3 scale. The next step is full size for the sphere but one shot at a time.

Re: General Fusion in the news

C-2W has as its target just to scale up the temperature. I expect results to be quick. Indeed C-2U results last year were quick as they already knew what they wanted to test and the only question was what would happen? It was a make or break situation. However, we may not know what happens with C-2W...

Re: General Fusion in the news

Commercial dates are cash dependent and those timelines are pessimistic to keep ITER funding trolls at bay. For Tri Alpha, big money was required for C-2W and C-2U success had to be breakthrough to win it. Now C-2W is close to build completion. All the FRC guys seem to have to build the whole machin...

Re: General Fusion in the news

Keep up SJ. The change happened last September or thereabouts. They had an interim CEO while they got another. If you want to find out why Gilliland left, it is up thread. GF has all the pieces now, the toughest was the plasma compression without losing heat and avoiding plasma contamination, someth...

New CEO to replace interim. Plans are to go for full scale, but money looks to be tight. http://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/general-fusion-introduces-new-leadership-group-as-company-claims-plasma-breakthrough?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitte...

Re: General Fusion in the news

When ANSYS is able to simulate the plasma compression and predict what will work and what won't then I will be impressed. GF is looking for news to stay in the news. GF will need to raise a boat load of money as soon as they have enough data to convince skeptics that their new full scale plasma inje...

Re: General Fusion in the news

For my part, I can only guess that lining up financial commitments is what is in play at this point. Oil prices are down so some backers in tar sands may not be in as glorious of a position cash flow wise. That and emphasis on US resource development. Then to the contrary is the pipeline approval. A...

Re: General Fusion in the news

General Fusion recently brought the first in a series of new sub-component machines online, with our new large plasma injector forming its first plasma on December 22 . This was enabled by significant performance gains in our plasma injector program and is allowing us to progress to the next stages...

Looks like a big announcement to me. http://generalfusion.com/2017/03/longer-lasting-plasma-milestone-general-fusions-development-plans/ For a recent review of GF progress shown in a pdf poster published in December 2016 http://generalfusion.com/2016/11/acoustically-driven-magnetized-target-fusion-a...

Re: Lockheed Martin news

I don't know how high energy neutral beams are being made, but clearly, the method has been proven and Tri Alpha is planning to pump in megawatts of power into their plasma in C2U with these beams. Why reinvent the wheel? Why debate it? Find out how it is being done is my suggestion.

Re: Lockheed Martin news

Dan,
Have you looked at pictures of the neutral beam injector cans for the Tri Alpha C2U (bottom of page http://trialphaenergy.com )?
It should give you some idea of distances. Those cans are really fat, I wonder if there is some design in a patent that would reveal what is inside?

EEStor, the story of the never ending con and once a fool, always a fool. Those two go together somehow.
