Re: NASA's 3D Printed Habitat Challenge

Why not make bricks in a little oven that recycles the water used? Much less energy intensive, and robots could easily handle bricks. Could do a double shell dome structure around an inflatable bag - one wythe of brick each side of the bag - then replace the air in the bag with water for radiation s...

Hey, I was just going for the Theologically Humorous Conceit, but the Tepid Hyperbolic Connection might be strong.

Construction begins 2016 for Hyperloop on five-mile stretch

Will be interesting to see if they can deliver and keep it as inexpensive as they believe.

Re: MIT Researcher’s New Warning: about autism

This autistic child of which I spoke, hates bread. He only wants to eat meat or beans. Will eat the meat off of a burger and leave the bread. I've read elsewhere that there seems to be some sort of a correlation between glutens and autism. Keep in mind that going gluten-free is much more foodstuff ...

Re: MIT Researcher’s New Warning: about autism

Personally, I think most instances of Autism, along with a high number of other chronic diseases, are caused by a two-step process. The first is environmental, and glyphosate is presenting as a strong candidate, though I don't consider it proven; but there's a high correlation between its use and it...

Re: Stanford: Alzeheimer's Is A Deficiency Disease

Why not look to the source of the amyloids and prevent Alzheimer's to begin with? Try a gluten-free diet; the amyloids are caused by gliadin-peptides disrupting the brain's insulin/amylin process. The body already has a process to remove amyloids (autophagy), but can't effectively do so when the sou...

Re: Charleton Heston was right!

Not sure the World News Daily Report is the best place to be looking for accurate news. Still, this article is almost believable given that captive Bonobos have been taught how to start fire, and research into chimp behavior around fire shows they don't have instinctual fear of it. Wild chimps have ...

Re: Eric Cantor Loses To TEA Party Libertarian

So, Rand is in deep water with her "objective" philosophy, and for sure it is fundamentally inconsistent with Austrian economic theory. I'm confused; are you suggesting Ayn Rand's philosophy of "objectivism" is somehow related to the basis of Keynesian economics and socialism? I haven't read much b...

Re: Eric Cantor Loses To TEA Party Libertarian

Probably needs a "Don't care" box as well. In Nevada, None of These Candidates won the Democratic governor primary. Economics is a science corrupted by Wall St., that's not to say he's not up to the task, just that even the Tea's need to think outside the box a whole lot more to fix things. It's my...

Wait just a minute! I thought it was gospel that there no WMD's in Iraq! Re: Good Review Of "Ender's"

It is my understanding that Card included Ender's Shadow in the script for Ender's Game, since both cover the same timeperiod from different view points (I haven't had a chance to read Ender's Shadow yet, so correct me if I'm wrong). This was, apparently, to make things more enjoyable, and help str...

Allegedly, this wasn't the first time these police have done this. With the same dog, whose certification had expired.
